Default Being near a statue of God or Goddess gives you a bonus.

In Pre-Searing in one of the areas there was a statue of Melandru and if you stood there long enough you would be healed faster. Say if your a Necromancer near a Grenth statue, your skills would do more damage, but if you were an Elementalist your water skills would do more damage. If your a Monk near a statue of Dwayna their healing skills would heal you for even more and Elementalists air magic would do more damage.

Melandru improves Rangers survival skills and after awhile heals people in the radius of the statue and Elementalists earth magic would do more damage. Balthazar would make Warriors attacks do more damage and Elementalists fire magic would do more damage. Lyssa would improve Mesmers hexes, but you must remember all of these bonuses are only temporary.

I think I covered just about everything though I know not much of Mesmers. I think this would be pretty cool myself.

What do you think?

What radius of the area around the statue would it affect?

The reason it works well in Pre-Searing is the party is composed of 1 or 2 members. If you had 8 people in a party all crowded around the statue, it would be open season on AoE spells/skills. I don't think many parties would take advantage of something like this.

I see no reason to not include this feature:

You know in the D'Alessio Seaboard mission where you must stay in the radius of that object that heals you while you fend off the Undead? Somewhere around that radius because it allows you to have room to move around while not making your group an easy target for AoE skills.

May be cool, but try going post searing and doing /kneel when your territory has favor.

Seriously, absolutly no need for this in pre-searing.

No,you have this confused. I was pointing out that Pre-Searing has this and it should be put into use in Post-Searing.

I did sign for it to be included in post-sear like it is in pre-sear.

simply because the god statues are too far and few between each other, it would barely ever have an affect on gameplay

Plus, now the gods offer more bonuses (for a price). The Champion of Balthazar gives 5 options, including increased attack speed, increased damage, morale, increase fire magic by 1, and something else...

I dunno about other gods, just checked this one.

It would be nice if Shrines in upcoming Campaigns had effects like these. They could have an Area Effect simular to Spirits, and empower any skills which follow thier dicipline.

Or they could just make helpful, or hindering effects around certain Shrines, like Regen around Melundru, Reduced damage around Dwayna, Increased damage around Grenth, faster Skill recharge around Balthazar, and Faster cast rate around Lysaa. Something like this in the form of a unique spirit effect for Shrines would be rather interesting in certain situations. It could be used to make interesting Mission objectives/locations, Simular to the BloodStones in Prophesies. Making all shrines this way would become a problem for many places where they shouldn't cause these effects, but in certain locations, or at the least, new locations, it could be an interesting situation.
